About
Vivian Cohen

Vivian’s versatile professional experience, extensive education, training and genuine passion for the design industry has cultivated an inspired yet flexible visionary with a strong sense of commitment and a firm work ethic.

In addition to launching a successful client-based, word-of-mouth business, Vivian has almost ten years of professional experience as a prints and woven’s designer for home furnishings. She has independently managed a transitional Woven Department, managed and coordinated the interior design teams of new home constructions, and worked as a stylist, executing challenging interior design plans, for such diverse companies as Lee Jofa / Kravet Inc., Design Concepts Interiors and DesignsbyVC.

Although she graduated in 2005 from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a B.F.A in Textile and Surface Design, Vivian’s passion for the industry led her back to her educational roots. In 2011, Vivian earned an A.A.S in Interior Design and continues to takes courses in Interior Design.

Her extensive training and advanced ability using design programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Ned Graphics, AVA, AutoCAD and Sketchup only enrich the unique qualities that she brings to each task. Irrespective of the job, Vivian always maintains her roles as both a loyal team player, seizing every opportunity to learn from colleagues and clients, as well as a trusted and decisive leader who ensures that every job gets done both thoroughly and expeditiously.

A complete design visionary, Vivian’s design philosophy is to be a total designer from start to finish. When she begins the design process, Vivian envisions the whole space, from the silverware that lies on the dining table, to the decorative pendant that illuminates the space, to the carpet that grounds the dining table, to the fringe that adorns the decorative pillow on the sofa.  Affectionately dubbed a transitionalist, Vivian fuses traditional design elements with an unexpected, modern approach.

Vivian’s solid professional history, rigorous educational training and enthusiasm for design make her an asset to any design team or project.

An Interior Design professor at FIT says, “Vivian has the complete package, the unique eye, the artistic hand, and unbeatable CAD and graphic design skills all in one”, and a colleague says, “Vivian just gets it, there is no back and forth with her, she understands the goal of teach task and knocks it out of the park each time.”
